Dr. Barua's path began with a B.Tech from IMPS College of Engineering and Technology, Malda, in 2008, followed by an M.Tech at the University of Kalyani under Dr. Kalyani Mali, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering supervised by Prof. (Dr.) K. P. Yadav and Prof. (Dr.) P. Chakrabarti. What followed was a career defined less by any single milestone than by its range — administration and teaching, patents and publishing, local mentorship and international advisory work, held together at once.
His scholarship moves across Artificial Intelligence, Soft Computing, Image Processing, Cryptography, Data Science and Neural Networks, expressed through more than fifty Scopus and SCI-indexed papers, nine books, and fifteen filed patents — two of them design patents — alongside a registered copyright. Outside the lab, he has coordinated NPTEL, Red Hat Academy and Oracle Academy programs, chaired institutional quality-assurance and academic committees, and guided twenty M.Tech projects and three doctoral theses to completion.
He currently holds honorary appointments as Adjunct Professor and Senior Fellow at SIRG Egypt, Visiting Scientist at the University of Malaya, Research Collaborator at the Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, and Visiting Professor at Yesbud University, Zambia, and KLCU, USA — a standing international network built over more than a decade of exchange.
